Five years ago I was buying “all natural” foods, sweating my ass off just to shrink my waist, spending a small fortune on supplements and shakes, and stressing way (like way, way) too hard about how much I weighed. I wanted to feel strong in my skin, stay off medications as much as possible & still be kicking it with my family well into my 90s. But I was followi caving into whatever shortcut sounded sexiest, and I absolutely hated it. It was a vicious cycle of craving what I couldn’t have & feeling guilty for eating what I wanted!
THE FULL STORY
Ridiculously Desperate for Doable
REALISTIC HOLISTICS is what I wish I’d found five years ago when I was frustrated, overwhelmed, and desperate for a program that would help me make the best food choices on my own & lose weight for good. Because nothing I tried made nutrition any easier to understand: the grocery store felt like one big guessing game, recipes were never something I looked forward to, I was either craving what I couldn’t have or feeling guilty for eating what I wanted, and even when I thought my meals were “healthy” — I was still terribly bloated after meals, dealing with awful acne, heavy painful periods, hair loss, brain fog.
I thought studying dietetics or exercise science would “fix” my body and land me a “good job!” But it truly felt impossible for me to study the very system I thought was broken. I was constantly asking myself, “If nutrition is such an important part of the puzzle, why is it the hardest habit to get right? Why is such a fundamental life skill so hard to figure out? Why do I need to go to college to get answers? Why are so many women in my life doing their best to “eat right” but still struggling?” It was a raging red flag to me, nothing added up: the recommended food pyramid, the lawsuits against pesticides, drugs being prescribed like candy, plant-based meat? I was struggling, and I just wanted a sustainable solution that was stress-free.
THE GAME CHANGER
I Didn’t Know Where to Start, So I Started Over.
Going on & off diets was not how I wanted to live my life, no matter how healthy it made me. I just wanted to feed my body what it needed, and minimize what it didn’t. And not one doctor, dietitian, trainer, supplement, shake, or weightloss program was helping me understand the ingredients,
me how to debunk marketing by myself, use my budget strategically, or handle imperfect situations along the way. I was wasting years (and a lot of money) on temporary solutions that didn’t help me build the consistency or confidence I needed on my own.
